ABout me…
I was born March 11, 1984 in a small Ohio town. I was raised by a single mother who worked two jobs to support my sister and I. My mother is the reason for my own personal strength by her example.
I, myself have dealt with trauma. My trauma was in areas covering emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I used to say, " I am a poster child for traumatic events."
As I got older I could see a pattern of behaviors that would put me in situations where I was engaging in toxic relationships in my life. These relationships had many times led to more traumatic experiences. I needed to break this vicious cycle. Some of my healing came from writing New Age Public Enemies. I was able to look at myself from both sides of the spectrum- victim and violator. I wrote this book to share some of my story with readers who have given up hope, or think their life is not worth saving because of the things they have done. I switched my perspective and now use my adversities as my strengths.
I am now a mother of three children, and a beautiful granddaughter. I work as drug and alcohol counselor, case manager, and a life coach. My future goal is to open a group center for runaway teens, and foster children. I want to be able to help our upcoming future break free from their chains before they become so overwhelmed with life and start searching for an escape. Sometimes all you need is to be shown love, guidance, support and a good example to show anything is possible if you do not give up!

New Age Public Enemies- published June 8th, 2017, is a fiction novel based on the author’s struggle with overcoming addiction, mental health issues, trauma, and poverty. I composed this book in hopes that it could reach readers that currently struggle or have struggled with addiction, mental health, trauma and low economic status in their life. This is to serve a sliver of hope for anyone that has had to endure pain, financial hardships, abuse and has utterly hit rock bottom at some point and to be able to see anything is possible if you do not give up. The story told in this novel is based on real people with different names and crimes were slightly changed to protect all parties discussed in the writing of this novel.
Coming Soon-Longest Road to Recovery
The Longest Road to Recovery- This upcoming book is about the adversities I faced along with others close to me. My struggles did not end after writing the first book . Events had taken place after my first book was published. Three of the main characters from New Age Public Enemies are no longer here in life. One character died from an acute respiratory failure from substances, another was shot and killed while attempting to make a deal, and another hung himself because he dealt with mental health issues. Those are just some of the losses I endured after writing my first novel.
The Longest Road to Recovery is not just about recovery from addiction to substances, but rather a healing process as a whole. The purpose of this book is to dive deeper and explore behaviors, and how to survive and process trauma that impacts a vast majority of the population today.
